General Information
Basic Information
My name is Jennifer. I am 23. I've
been dealing with children for nearly all of my life. I have my own
transportation and will care for your child(ren) in your home. I am drug free, including tobacco and I have clean criminal and driving records.Experience
~I assisted my mother in her child care business for the approximately 10 years she was open.
~I currently assist her in her child care provider training business.
~I have taken care of children in homes and in group settings on many occasions.
~I am in my 7th year as an umpire for elementary through high school girls softball.
~I was an assistant counselor at Camp Lakamaga (a Girl Scout camp) for 3 summers.
Training
~I am a board member for Professional Learning Alternatives, Inc. and so have access to a mountain of information about child development and safety as well as access to many child care professionals who are more than willing to share their knowledge and experiences with me.
~I have attended Pediatric CPR, First Aid, some special needs, car seat safety and many more.
~I took a babysitting class many years ago.
Children
~I am willing to care for up to 4 children if 2 or fewer are in diapers.
~I am willing to work with children with special needs.
~An interview with parent(s) (in a public setting) is required and meeting with the child(ren) is preferred before I accept a job.
Legal Info
~I require that a contract be signed by all legal guardians of the child(ren) prior to my first day of work.
~I require that a form be signed if I am to administer any medication.
~For tax purposes I am considered an employee. If I am paid $1600 or more per year in gross income by any single family, earning must be reported. The family is responsible for the paperwork and fees associated with being an employer (A nanny's payroll and associated taxes may be used to qualify for special tax treatments afforded to child care expenses. The positive benefit of these tax breaks can often completely off-set the family's expense for tax compliance). I am responsible for filling out a W-2 form. Social Security, Medicare, State and Federal taxes will be taken out of my pay. Click here for a sample paycheck. Visit www.4nannytaxes.com or talk with your tax professional for more information.
Other Info
~I would not be comfortable driving your child(ren) anywhere due to insurance reasons (walking or biking would be ok).
~I am willing to accompany your child(ren) to a nearby park with your permission and knowledge.
~I
am willing to do small chores related to the care of the child(ren)
such as dishes after a meal, laundry after an accident or dirty play
and general cleaning after a messy activity.
